With a lower compression you get more room for tunability as far as retarding or advancing.
I don't think it is very safe to tune FI with a compression any higher than a CR of 10.5 it gets pretty tricky and level of boosting decreases.

Plus, with high comp FI set up, you retain drivability off boost. I pln on going 10:1 compression with like 6-7 psi. The 6-7 psi will seem like more because of the compression. The key to all things engine related is tuning.
