Ecu codes and some questions

About two weeks ago I was working on something in my car (95 240sx) and I had unplugged the intake air temperature sensor (the one before the MAF) this set off the check engine light. So I searched the forums, and found the stuff about ecu and set about checking the codes.

The only thing that is strange is that when I read the codes, they were not the ones I expected. I should mention that this car is an auto to manual swap, with a manual ecu, I have had it manual for about a month now with no codes. Anyway instead of reading that a temperature sensor had been unplugged, it blinked 10 slow, 3 fast, which if I am correct is: 103 EC-183 Park/Neutral Position Switch 103 EC-183. Then it blinked 3 slow, 4 fast, which I believe is: 34 EC-130 Knock Sensor.

So my question is why would unplugging a temp sensor trigger these codes? I reset the ecu and the check eng light went off. Should I be worried about the knock sensor? I use only premium gas, and I have not noticed any strange sounds or problems. What could the knock be from? I would also like to fix the park sensor, can anyone with an auto to manual swap tell me how?

How did you erase it?

If you leave the key in the car, and leave it in the on position, and you turn the screw on the ecu once, it will blink the error codes, read them. You then turn the screw on the ecu back to the normal operating position, and the ecu light should be back on, indicating the original problem.

You then turn the screw on the ecu back to the blinking codes position. In my car this resets the ecu and it blinks 55, for all clear. I then turn the screw on the ecu back to the normal operating position, and the codes are gone.

EDIT: When you leave the key in the car it should be in the ON position. The engine should be OFF.

It turns out my knock sensor went bad, I replaced it, and the car works fine now.
