egr bypass

i have a 91 240 with the ka motor..i am building the engine--possibly for later turbo..i want to bypass the egr and had a few questions....can i just put a plug in the header and blockoff plate on the intake??? what will this do to the stock ecu?? will it try to copensate for the difference? several techs have given me different answers..most think it will be very sluggish from the ecu dumping fuel...any help???????

the egr dumps dirty exhaust back into your incomming air charge...this air is not metered since it comes in after the mafs... this actually dilutes the air charge making it semi dirty... plugging the exhaust hole with a sinple pipe plug... use lots of anti seeze on it so you can take it back out if you have to have an emissions test... the other end of the pipe you can just put a pipe cap on it... here again use lots of antiseeze just incase you have to take it off... i would leave the valve there to make it easy... not to mention it looks semi stock with it in place... i have done this mod lots of times and have never had an issue with the ecu or the motor running sluggish... while you are at it pull the aiv line out of the exhaust and put a pipe plug in there as well... keep the incomming air as clean as possible...
