egr prob.
ok so im trying to take off my headers and put some pacesetter one on, but i cant get the egr line off my stock headers, its stripped to all hell. so i was wondering if i can just cut the line and run it like that till i get the egr block off piece to take the whole thing off?

I put megan racing headers on ym car couldnt get the Egr off my stock manifold so I cut mine.Ive had it like that for 2 months now no check engine lights or nothing. All the egr does is reburn exhaust fumes if you cut it the egr will suck in air from the engine bay and just put it into the manifold.I havent had no problems yet.

I just replaced my factory exhaust manifold and had a hard time as well. If it's really that stripped and you don't want to cut the valve, try using a pipe wrench. If that doesn't work, cut that bi_ch!

I did install my hotshot header few weeks ago and had the same issue. I had to cut the egr tube. I bought another one at the dealer and put it back. I know it's possible to block the egr with a plate but, I decided to buy a new tube instead.

so i was putting in my hotshot header, and nothing seems to line up except for the O2 sensor. i didn't hafta cut my EGR tube but i did the AIV tube and the EGR tube doesn't fit into the hole of the new header. also the hotshot header has an one too few holes up at the manifold (if i want the EGR and O2 and AIV), and an extra O2 sensor down near the cat. just wondering if anyone else ran into problems like this, cuz i dunno what i can do without or need.

FYI...EGR does nothing...well it does something. When your car is cold, the EGR is used to warm it up quicker. Its good for winter driving, but also hurts performance. If u are running a header dont run an EGR u are loosing performance
Just block off the egr and ur good to go, it doesnt do anything
u dont need it
BTW i dont use mine and i passed emissions with flying colours for the ppl who think it affects emissions

the egr valve functions at all times... it is not a pre heat tube like on older cars... it recirculates a given amount of burnt exhaust gasses at all times... you can in fact remove the system without any problems... but i would suggest plugging the hole until you get a block off plate... if the valve opens then the manifold will suck air into that tube... dirty air i might add... unfiltered air from inside of the engine compartment clost to the pavement is a bad idea... too many things can get sucked in there while driving...

Where can you get plugs, besides the local Nissan dealership? They wanted like 45 bucks for one plug. I haven't looked real hard, but I didn't see anything close to that size at Lowe's or the Depot.
