Sorry, but this is completely wrong. Backpressure NEVER gives a car more power. By that logic, you would be able to gain hp and/or torque by putting a restriction in your intake as well.

The problem with too free-flowing exhaust is not the loss of backpressure, it's the decrease is exhaust gas velocity, which can lessent the effect of scavenging (when out-of-phase exhaust pulses help 'pull' the exhaust gases out of the cylinders - and pull fresh air/fuel into them)

The N1 maintains better gas velocity by using two smaller diameter pipes.

The backpressure myth is a holdover from old carbureted engines when they first got cats. The restriction in the exhaust would cause some air to actually pass through the carb twice at lower revs, so the carbs were tuned to compensate for this. When the restrictions were removed from the exhaust, the incoming air was not getting a double helping of fuel and more and this is how power was lost. This has nothing to do with a modern fuel injected car, especially one that relies on MAF-based metering like Nissan systems.

oh boi...
i would love to respond to all this....
actually..
backpressure will add tq down low..
no backpressure will allow turbos to spool faster and higher hp ...
ok and onto the subject of shooting fire..
get a test pipe get an exhaust..
yeah fine and dandy..
now if u are na.. you basically have to run waaay rich.. and with a lot of friggin valve overlap... to be able to ignite the extra fuel in the exhaust..
for turbos.. just run a ***** rich and you should be able to pull it off..
also bee r has this ingition cutt off
when u hit fuel limitor instead of cutting fuel u cut ignition
floods the freaking exhaust with gas and boom (FLAME)!!!
