Talking free intake mod

so i was on my home from trinity and i wanted to see how clean the engine bay looked after i simple greened it. i pulled over and decided to take out the plastic tube extension to the intake and OMFG! did i notice a differance did it pull stronger through most of the rpms but the sound. ee god the sound was gorgeous. well yall 240 veterans out there prolly knew this already but yall broke folk, try it. free fast effective and FREE

the plastic tube that goes into the stock intake box?

i left mine there to give more air to my intake, but if it helps to take out, then okay

its like a y shaped kinda tube thing and a box underneath, rip all that **** out

man... i know free is free... but an open air filter costs like 5-15 bucks? and if you wanna be free and ghetto... duct-tape that filter on the maf hehe...

I took the restrictor box out ... thats the lower box that the Y-tube leads too.
And i left the Y-tube in.

This way, your still getting in a ton of air, and the Y tube is helping to get cooler air from under the car instead of the engine bay.

did this about a month ago ... quite a difference :-)

i cut the front of the restrictor box below the y pipe so its more of an air scoop now.

yeah i got one of those now. With gas prices going up by the hour, i need better gas mileage.. its at $3.++.. I know its past 3.50

I did more than just take out the y-pipe and resonator box, i cut the air box itself. Pics!

If your talking about that razor line that not enough. I did that as well.--2 quarter-size holes on 2 sides--

If your refering to Artic, I believe the whole bottom of the air box is cut, leaving just enough for it to clamp shut and hold the filter in place

i did that and got horrible gas mileage cuz of my greedy header was emitting too much hot air into that little hole. Now i have a ram air setup and hopefully i'll have better gas mielage.
