Fuel pump install.
So I finally got the Walbro 255 pump for my S14. I was having (and still am) the check engine light due to fuel temperature sensor issues. Called Nissan they told me the fuel pump could be at fault as there is no such sensor on a 96 240. Cool so I order the Walbro and decide to install it today.
Install was lengthy and somewhat complicated. Vendor also didn't help by sending me an S13 install kit which doesn't really work with the S14 but it's cool since I picked up a Prelude strainer from Autozone and still came out to about 100 bucks total.
I do my wire splicing, install in the stock location and everything. I button the whole thing up and decide to fire it up.
I run through the procedure of priming the fuel system 3-4 times w/o cranking. I notice the pump sounds louder then stock but I think healthy for a high volume unit like this one. Satisfied that's enough I go to crank the car but nothing happens. I try that again and go to crank the car. Holding the key for a good 3-5 seconds at a time I get a regular pattern of, ( CRANK - CRANK - CRANK - CRANK- CRANK - PUTT - CRANK ) that repeats for the next 6-7 times I try but nothing happens the car won't start.
The only thing I can think of is that I may not be putting the bracket down in the tank the proper way. It's sort a to the side twisted but still the pump is submerged it should at least give me somthing. Trouble is I can't find a good pic / diagram of how that thing is supposed to fit down so I'm not sure how to place it. An install guide sorta hints that the thing should slide down back into place but I don't think that's accurate.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the help.

I got NGK Iridium IXs on there. Shouldn't the FPR prevent that from happening though.
I did however ask a friend before posting and he suggested I'd use some starting fluid. Perhaps I should take the plugs off spray some in there and some in the intake you think?
Thanks keep the suggestions coming, all these gasoline fumes got to my head and can't seem to think straight anymore.

Ok Update.
So after ruling out crossed wires, crossed lines, incorrect placing, sock whatever I decided it has to be the pump considering walbro has somewhat of a reputation for cranking out duds.
I go to Oreilly's and got me a new stocker pump just to get me back on the road and guess what not even this one seems to get the car started!
I tried checking the fuses but I lost the fuse chart so I looked at the only two blue 15 amp fuses and they seem intact so if either one is a fuel pump fuse then it shouldn't be crapped out.
I'm completely stumped.

this is a little off topic but sense im doing the same pump install i figured i would ask..
did you have to get a different fuel sock to make the install work? i have read that i need a duel sock from a prelude.
