? on fuel pump ugrade

I have a full done up head i just got cleaned, it has all the goodies for a na sohc KA. I was wondering if i can run the head on the car with the stock fuel pump til about a week later when i get payed and i can buy a walbro one. Cause i have seen some people have full done up heads on their car and they are still using the stock fuel pump. I just worry about the injectors maxing out maybe while i drive it for my daily driving till i get paid. Anyone think i would be ok to drive it with the stock one till i get the walbro.

shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't kill it, all that'll happen will be you won't get all the gas your car wants, heh.

Take her easy and I'm sure it's no problem. What all got done?

I bought it from a friend who used to have it on his car. other than gettin it cleaned and got new intake and exhaust valve stem seals put in it. My friend said the head has the intake ported, the exhaust ported and polished, it has a 3 angle valve job, a lift of some where in the 500's ( i didnt feel like gettin it sent away to get the exact specs on it read up) and not sure whats all been up graded on the valve train and he said the head got milled some a while back before he put it on his car. Don't know what kind of numbers he was makin but when he had it on the car and the exhaust he had on it the thing was damn loud.

i'm not 100% sure with those mods you'll need a upgraded fuel pump at all. But take her easy and the stock one will do you until you get the walbroro high flow one.

If it's daily "light acceleration" driving, then don't worry. Just don't even think of flooring it until you get the new pump, because fuel starvation = bad
