where to start ?

ok i am going to attempt a rebuild of my ka24de so i can have the car running before i can get the sr put in. the story behind it is it sucked water and so far the plugs are out, valve cover is unbolted, as is the dist., and timing cover. this is how i got the car. so my question is where should i start to look for problem areas and what all should i use to rebuild it. ie brands of rings, gaskets, etc?

if you find someone who's swapped their engine, you can find a KA for $100-300.

You'll need a new oil pump as well. here's a link to another engine rebuild parts site, should be a complete kit.

import performance
