it could be the coating on the pipes that protects them from rusting or it could be the stuff inside of the cat getting hot for the first time... i bought a new cat and cat back system from obx for my integra and that thing stunk for a week... but then stopped... i was inside the car and could only smell it when i got out... so i did not worry bout it...

if it is a good cat it wont be fiberglass... it will be ceramic or steelwool... fiberglass is for mufflers...

Maybe, if you would lay-off the tacos the smell would go away.
