Is this a good idea?

After having my Headers/Intake/Exhaust installed, along with replacing the spark plugs/wires, cap and rotor. . . is it a good idea to reset the ECU so that it recognizes the changes in the system?

I mean, after I changed out the parts one by one, I started the car and the check engine light did not come one. . . .which I assumed that I installed it correctly.

Im just wondering because it seems that my car "pops" frequently between shifts. I'm just wondering if the ECU is to blame or is my timing a little too advanced?

any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

i would agree, unless the timming is off even by the slightes.

i got a 89 s13, it does the same... its the timming in my case, check over all of the conections and check the timming.. if that still aint it.. see if your o/2 or Maf is functioning properly.

if all of that is ruled out, im not sure..

anyway, whats the harm in it anyway? the riceboys love to see that **** going on... heh

Thanks for the info! I kind of had an idea that it was my timing that was the probable cause of it. When I changed my headers out, I changed the sensor that was on there with a new one.

So I guess that I'll buy one of those timing lights to adjust the timing and see if that solves the problem.
