Idle problems

Hi, my car has been having idle problems lately.

For some reason, whenever I shift gears under 2800RPM like normal, my tachometer wants to drop to 0 very quickly.

Today, when I came home from work, I had to hold the gas pedal down to start the car. The car was unwilling to start until after 4 attempts, then I wanted to drop to 0 RPM again. So I drove home while left foot braking and using my right foot to keep it above 3000RPM at all time or else the engine would drop to 0RPM and shut off.

I was thinking it could be my radiator having a very small leak, because I know air seeping into the radiator isn't a good thing.

Here's what I drive.
1992 Nissan 240SX LE
KA24DE
Hatchback

I would like to know how this problem would be fixed. Thanks for reading my problem.

smoke coming from tailpipes? do you smell fuel in the engine bay? is the radiator topped off when you open it? does the oil cap smell of gasoline? if so, is the oil level too high? and you dont need to press the gas to start her up (for carbs)

There's no smoke coming from the tailpipes.

I no longer smell the fuel since it's off cold. (one would only smell fuel if gas was pressed when trying to start)

Oil cap does not have the smell of gasoline.

The radiator cap top was fastly tightened.

Oil level is normal.

I will try to clean the Idle Control valve to see if it does the trick.

I found the problem. The temporature sensors (located on the passenger side, front of the engine) was loose and dirty. I just cleaned it and now it runs like normal again.

Yeah, funny how even the small electronic things could screw up an engine. I can't imagine what would the newer engines of today be like >_<
