That is beautiful. Why is there so much room in the front thought?Did the guy remove the fan and radiator assembly and do something custom? Mmm I love it!

looks like they just arent installed yet. my radiator is moved back 2 inches and i have a custom fan, soon to be replaced by a small (LIGHT!) push type fan prabably from a honda. mine is currently a huge fan pull through type setup, good for turbo or whatever setup, but not needed for NA.

back to the thread topic. the S13 KA's have a flap in the upper part of the intake manifold near the valves. this are closed at lower RPMs to increase torque, and at higher RPM a valve creates some suction and the valves open fully to increas air flow...

now removing these arn't going to give you a noticble power gain.
if you have a s13 ka, i would recomend you just leave it alone unless you plan on trying to eek out any bit of power for competion reasons...

here's another pic.

i believe they are strictly vacuum operated, with a stiff return spring for when vacuum gets low and then they open. ? ill be taking mine off soon, while installing the itb's, then i can confirm how they open and also power gained/lost by removing them.
