It's running!

I got pissed at the car and let it sit for 2 weeks. I walked by it eager to get it running, and did the hail mary run. I put the neg cable back on and it fired right up. I drove it for a little while, but it wouldn't start back up again. So I jumped it and had some issues. It's not revving high at all and is bogging like crazy. I threw my voltmeter on it and i got 11v before starting it, and while its running, i got 9.5v~ and it was slowly going down. Sound like my alternator took a crap on me. Also I noticed the ground wire for the alternator is hanging off, perhaps that could be causing it.

New pix are in the show n shine

well, i drove it around all day and made 1 or 2 redline runs, but a couple minutes after that, it wouldn't rev very high.

ALSO: The tube running to the airbox is still open

Sounds like its only alternator problems. An alternator that isnt charging can't rev well to high RPMs, as it takes a lot of electricity.

That's what i'm thinking. I use my truck to jump it 140amp alternator vs 80 and it charges 14v. And while the cables are still hooked up, it revs up like a *****.

There you go dude. May I recommend a junkyard alternator? By the way, did you hook up that ground cable?

I hooked up that ground wire, didn't change anything. The alternator is grounded to the block, so I didn't think it would change anything. But if its there, hook it up right. Still the same symptoms. I know it's not my maf because it revs up real easy when i get atleast 12v from the jump. I ordered a new alternator and it will be here tuesday, 99% sure thats the problem. I don't mind spending cash for new parts because i need it reliable. I'll put a new battery in also.
