KA HP #'s

i was wondering some of the highest NA KA HP #'s people were getting with bolt ons or with mods u have done to the engine.....I was hoping i could make anywhere in the 200+HP with some bolt ons is this possible???.....by bolt ons i mean like underdirve pulley the obvious catback and intake etc etc etc

that thread is way more than bolt ons... well... not really cus you are bolting and unbolting things from the motor... but it has to come out to do the bolting and unbolting...

^^^ true... Thats why I also gave him the search button

Edit: As a guees, I say 150 to the wheels but also depends what YOU classify as boltons. Are Cams considered bolt ons for you? Your bolting things on arent you

Edit Edit You have to unbolt the valve cover then put the cams in then bolt more bolts... its more complicated than that but yeah... Again what do you want to buy. Dont expect twenty more ponies out if Intake and exhaust.

lol... there is a lot of information and a lot of **** on that post... look at page 13 14 or 15 i forgot which one.. it gived the break down of my motor... that is a lot more than just bolt ons...

but to help you out... quality intake exhaust and gat your ecu chipped or get one from jim wolfe technoliges... if you are doing the ecu get a bigger fuel pump better fuel pressure regulator and switch out the mafs for either one from a 300 or from a mustang cobra... then you can add bigger fuel injectors and a fuel rail... you will be up in power some... might be getting close to 200 but i cant say for sure... do a cam swap and you should be right close...and that is without pulling the motor out of the car...

this question gets asked a lot so i went to search it out... this is what i found on the subject of adding intake exhaust and under drive pullys...you might be supprised... but here it is... complete with dyno charts and all...http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0210it_powerpages/

Bolt on's are the worst applications used for any engine when trying to perform high HP numbers in stock trim, (example KA24de @155 CHP) and this is why..........
Bolt on's are only proven to increase the margin within the limited range of HP that the engine already achieves at the crank.....
That means you are only dropping degredation numbers from the HP/Torque curve, slightly adjusting the power band (HP/Torque curve)..........
You can apply as many bolt on's as you wan't but the engine will still only perform to it's recomended 155HP output at the crank...
Since degredation has dropped you will see HP/Torque numbers increase at the wheels hence the DYNOMOMETER...... 200CHP "will not" be achieved by applying "BOLT ON'S"...

If you are looking for significant power gains you will want to do minor internal work such as CAMS, porting and honing.

Engine management is another way to increase CHP output but gains are still minimal there. A fuel system upgrade is recomended also..... You can only deliver as much power as the injectors increase there flow rate of injection, and as the ecu tells the engine what to dump in fuel to air..........

Cheapest bange for your buck is the APEXI SAFC piggy backing the existing ecu will achieve anywhere from a 10 to 20 CHP depending on the bolt on that you have applied or not.
But then you will need to purchase an APEX Rev speed meter to calculate dyno G so that you can tune the SAFC.......

I failed to mention the only bolt on apps that will change CRANK HP are turbo systems, blower systems, or NOS injection......

List of parts that drop the 15% degredation of the KA24de....

ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL
ALUMINUM DRIVE SHAFT
ALUMINUM PULLEY'S
EXHAUST HEADER
CATYLITIC CONV.
CAT BACK EXHAUST
PLENUM and RUNNERS
ELECTRIC FAN
ALUMINUM RADIATOR
ADJUSTABLE TIMING GEAR and advanced timing

List of parts that increase Crank HP........

Fuel pump
Fuel Rail
Fuel injectors
Engine management "ECU", (AEM,Reprogrammed, or SAFC)
TB
MAF
CAMS
CR pistons
Porting and Honing
Increased Valve Diameter
Turbo charging
Super charging
NOS injection

Did I miss anything???????????????
