KA NA mods question

I want some info on what mods to do on a KA NA. All I can find on any forum or any search i put in is mostly SR with a little KA-T in there. Anybody with any knowledge of mods to do to a KA would be greatly appreciated.

BTW its a 93 240sx SE with a KA24DE in it. I haven't bought it yet, because I want to know what potential it has without a turbo. And don't think I'm a dumbass and don't know turbos. I know the KA was built with the intention to turbo it, I would just rather spend the money elsewhere.

with NA you can do a lot of things, buddy I talked to online was runing 13.2 NA w/ automatic in the 1/4. Same as every other car N/A, cams, pistons, intake header exhaust, etc.

There's no limit with NA as long as you have the $$ for it... Okay before someone corrects me, there IS a limit (like when the block can't handle the power anymore) but as far as mods go you can do anything to the KA that you could with basically any other NA motor. Doc's list works, plus add stuff like porting, bigger TB and MAF, ignition, fuel pump, cam gears, etc.

go get yourself some SOHC pistons, reprogram your ecu, port and polish your head, some cam work will help too...

There are many mods for the NA KA24DE you just have to have the money to go there. Of course you have your boltons and since it is a 240sx it is going to cost you an arm and a leg:
Intake (150) Injen - what i recommend
Headers (350) Hotshot
Catback (500) 5Zigen
Then of course you have your more complicated fun stuff that will not be cheap either:
Port and Polish Cylinder head - 350 for Street and 1000 for Race
Coil Sets
Valves
High Compression Pistons
Bore Throttle Body
Cams (use two 91 SOHC exhaust cams it is the same as JWT)
ECU - last thing on the list for reason so when you get it from JWT or where ever you can have it programed to your mods
There are some other things you can do but I have yet to try it out to see if it does anything. There are cheaper was to get all the boltons, I mean you can make a very good short ram for 20 bucks and about an hour of work. Just all depends on the money how strong you want it to be.

I have never heard of using the SOHC pistons, and either way you want new pistons, or you would think so. . .

I'm told the JWT cams are better than 91 cams, and according to freshalloy, 91-93 cams are all the same. Once I get my 91 cams i'll measure them and we'll see.
Check with jim wolfe technologies, or www.ka24de.com for cams as well.

I have no idea, never heard the SOHC pistons were any better.
pdm racing cams are probably expensive as heck, but they make good stuff.

$450 for cams is crazy to me, thats probably ~15hp for that much money. I guess thats a little more/the same than exhaust or headers, but that adds up, lol.
