KA24DE Cam Question

The S13 cams are supposed to be:
Intake: 240
Exhaust: 248

Correct?

Why is it that if you do the math (Intake open BTDC + Intake Close ABDC + 180) you get 242 for the intake and 248 for the exhaust.

Intake Opens: -1 BTDC
Intake Closes: 61 ABDC

1 + 61 + 180 = 242 degrees

Exhaust Opens: 8 BBDC
Exhaust Closes: 60 ATDC

8 + 60 + 180 = 248 degrees

Am I not figuring something right?

the NA master will answer that question.. the head is a part of the motor im still working on . cams can get very complex... and i don't wanna even attempt to give you some wrong info. ...

just to note the KA has a wide range of stock cams to choose from and they can be mixed to help in some cases.

Yup...

I am trying to figure out the Lobe Separation Angle of the stock S13 cams

Then figure it with a 248 cam in the intake side, along with at what degrees the 248 will open and close the valves at...

I am running some engine simulation software to try and figure out my engine build. I realize it isn't dead actuate, but it should get me in the ballpark...

Thanks, I've read that a couple times now, trying to get what Vinnie is putting out...

I'm going for something like:
200hp/200lb/lbs at the crank within the Factory red line specs for relability
(think 1999 Z-Concept car based on the S14 with the KA)
-E85 fuel
-SOHC Pistons for 11:1 compression ratio
-248/248 cams
-Adjustable Cam Sprockets
-custom header
-ITBs (not the way everyone else does them on a KA)
-Daughter boarded Stock ECU running off MAP

yeah, its a project...
