ka24de, thinkin about rebuildin?

just recently bought my 92 240sx with 105,xxx miles on the clock and i wanted to rebuild my engine. i was wonderin if anyone could give me any help with parts to use.

lol where have I seen that screen name before, hmmmm? But what kind of rebuild are you going for? Stock rebuild, performance, what?

What kind of numbers are you going for? You dont need all forged internals and stuff if you arent going for huge numbers, also what kind of budget do you have?

do it! my brother in law had his twin cam rebuild. it was bored out to 2.5. that thing ran like a beast! he was probably running about 200whp after disconnecting all the emission, electric fan, and 3inch exhaust.

^No he wasn't. Not without some major engine work, cams, lightweight pulleys, and a whole lotta money.

ok well first off i wanna build the engine up, before i even think about runnin a turbo. i did research on the engine even before i got the car. i have a preety good budget for a highschool student, i just want to know good parts to get me around the high 200's

Well you're gonna need a turbocharger to do that, at least economically. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but stock internals should be good for the high 200s.

High 200's you would want to start on internals, just go for about 225-250 and you can run stock internals

ok well would i be better off to rebuildin the internals, valvetrain, or should i just buy a turbo kit?

If I were you I would check the compression first. If you don't have a compression tester you can borrow one for free from AutoZone. If the compression is good (around 190) then IMO you are good to go.
