Ka24e Ecu On A Dohc Engine?

I am doing a engine swap and i want to get the car running asap. I have a 95 dohc engine going in and was wondering if for now the sohc engine ecu would work with a dohc engine? it plugs in ok but i'm not sure if it would start and run with it in any body know? this is just a temp thing like maybe a week or 2!

Im not sure if it would work even if it plugs okay. Since the KA24E ECU is programmed to run only a single cam, a certain fuel amount, SOHC timing, etc.

But I might be wrong...

i dont think it will work at all... the pin outs are in different places on the ecu... the fuel and timing maps are totally different and if i remember right even the power is from a different pin... you could try it at the risk of smoking the ecu... but i would get the ecu you need befor i try running the car... after all you are doing the swap why skip a step and possibly do damage to the motor or the car???

Dude SOHC ecu's can work on dohc's. You just wont have a knock sensor thats all. Leave your sohc harness and ecu, and just install the dohc.
I think sohc ecu's are cool anyways, they are super easy to chip out.

A friend of mine actually felt his dohc was faster w/ his sohc ecu. But then he changed to the dohc ecu and it didnt feel as fast.

You should be able to. I have an 89 240sx hatch with a 95 ka24de and a sohc ecu. It works!

It does run nice. I have a dohc harness on the way. I have a Dohc ecu and I can't wait to try it on. The DOHC ecu doesn't work with the SOHC harness. At least on mine it doesn't...LOL!!!
