Knock sensor find/replace

my engine finally quit, losing power, and the rpms dropped, and it died, and wont start. it will crank, so i checked most everything, including fuel, fuel pressure, spark, distributor, and some others. got the OBDII test and it said the knock sensor was getting too much or too little electricity. in my chilton guide, it only shows the knock sensor in one place, and all it is, is a circle where it is in the engine bay, not elaborating on the exact location. so my question is: where is it? my brother's MR2 has it drilled into the block. i may have found it, but is between the up and down parts of the intake manifold, and i dont feel like taking it apart to find out its wrong. my second question is where do the wires come/go to? i checked the one illustration for the chassis electrical wiring diagram, and didnt find anything but that it has its own wire, with no fuse. lol. not much, and i need to find out if it gets power. anybody have this problem, and what was the fix?
