leaky injectors
#3
I worked on my girlfreinds car today with the same issue (also a 89 2.4). We thought we could get out cheap with just the O ring kits for each injector to solve the problem.
After replacing each O ring and (2) rubber gormets per injector the leak was a little less (still leaks) but now have other issues.
Car running a little rough at idle but try to put into gear and it shakes terrible and wants to die.
Any ideas?

dont die 240
well make sure you removed the sensor for the feul pump, and put it back in when u were finished. Also did u have to remove the bpt valve? Did u use 3 o rings on each injector?

We bought the kits from Napa. It only has one O ring that seats inside the fuel rail, one gromet that seats against the fuel rail, and another gromet that seats to the manifold for each injector when you tighten the fuel rail bolts.
I'm not sure what the fuel pump sensor is or where it is located.
The car ran fine ( just had a leaky injector) before the swap and now it falls on its face when trying to put into gear.
This was not rocket science- it was easy fix. Could it be another issue in the fuel delivery system now that the leaky injectors are fixed
