well the way it is right now is not pluged in, i drove down the road and the only difference i can notice is has a small little back fire on the exhaust (but barely noticable) im pretty sure im talking about the right thing the MAF is the sensor that goes to the factory air induct box right? the reason it won't go in is that the way it screws into the factor box verses its just a spout coming out the adapter, and also its a 1990

The circled red part is the MAF (The whole metal piece between the piping and the filter), is that what you're talking about?

since i couldn't get the sensor in i unplugged the pigtail b/c i didn't want it to just dangle there and get messed up, and yes the circled area is what im talking about.

well if you're driving the car w/o any noticeable problems then odds are your talking about the air temp sensor.

plug it in it tells your ecu the temp of the incoming air which the ecu will use to make adjustments. when the weather is cool you can do w/o it. in the summer you'll defiantly need it to keep your car from knocking.
just plug it in and zip tie it to something near your maf like so.

i have a 92 hatch with a 91 KA and i have it. also, a little funny story, my roommate has a 90 hatch sr20 and his entire MAF unit has been out for atleast 6 months and his car runs like it hasn't even noticed haha. you can unplug the pigtail and it makes no difference and he still runs 8.5's in the 1/8th.. i just thought i'd share that since were on the subject of MAFs. i've never seen anything like that before.
