major problem
i'm new to this so please don't get mad if this is in the wrong forum but i've been havin some serious car problems lately. i have a 89 240(ka24e)and everytime i drive my car it stalls out on me and it won't start back up until an hour later. i'm not too sure but i think somethin is causin my car to overheat way too quickly and i **** u not but the other night i drove it around my block a couple times to get it hot and when i cut it off and cut it back on it did not start as i figured it wouldn't. now heres the crazy part flames were comin out of my muffler

sounds like you cam timing is off. pull the valve cover off and check the timing marks. make sure they are all lined up TDC. if you are at TDC on the crank pulley and the links don't line up on the cam sproket then you've skipped links on the chain. thats a sign that you tensioner is on its way out.
it probaly wont start because there is no compression due to the valves being open on the compression stroke. pull your spark plugs and there will mostlikely be lots of unburnt fuel. which is where the flames probaly come from.
i could be wrong but its worth a shot.
cam timing will wander cus of a slack chain
