thanks guys. But what tools do I need to run a check? im really low on money at the moment. and I really need to get this fixed. I need some kind of scan or something? or can i do it from the car?

You just need a test ohm meter. You can buy that at Harbor Freight or at Radio Shack or any other electronics store or even at Walmart. But there are 3 wires at the maf. Read the FSM on that because that is what I folowed for testing it. In my case, to get it back to normal, was after I touched the middle wire with the red probe of the meter and grounded the black probe to a ground strap on the firewall. Then it was like normal again, so I will do more testing with that but you can try that.

thanks for the advice drew. I found and fixed the problem; the MAFS itself was broken, like it shorted out or something. So I went to a junk yard (20 miles away. . ) and got a new sensor for 90 bucks. at least my proble is fixd now, thanks for the help guys
