Question My progress so far, and questions?????

OK, I got my 1995 240sx SE finally running about a few weeks ago, changed my suspension to Tein Flex, and did my exhaust with the 3 inch HKS Hiper exhaust. I love both of those mods. Im planning on getting the stage 2 turbo kit from BoostDesigns. Looks like a good deal, plus its going to be a daily driver.

My problems now are is I cant seem to find how to fix my heater, and i wanted to ask if it was a big deal, that when i was installing my exhaust, one of the bolts from the Cat broke off due to all the rust, so its holding on with one bolt. I wanted to ask if that was a big deal and how soon would I have to get that fixed?

Finally I have about 4200 left over for the turbo and anything else i may need. Is there anything else you guys suggest on getting with that money left over besides the turbo? Thanks.

1995 240SX SE
104,000 Miles swapped Ka24de
188,000 miles on the chasis
Manual
Short Shifter
HKS Hiper Exhaust
Tein Flex Coilovers

if the motor has over 100,000 mikes and you plan on doing a stage 2 you might want to work on you motor, a rebuild or something so you dont just blow it apart. your fuel and ignition, a clutch, i would do those things to be safe and then after all that a lsd would be nice especialy if you live some where where it is wet alot, rain snow ect.

Yea I was planning on doing that, clutch, but the stage 2 comes with the whole fuel management i believe. But i also wanted to know if that bolt would affectr my car in any way? Im obviously going to get it fixed when i get the time but i wanted to ask if it will hurt me. What will the LSD help me in?

I wouldn't do that turbo kit.

Suspension. Suspension and Some more suspension. Sprinkle in some chassis stiffening as well.

Brakes are also cool.

You are aiming to do a turbo install and do not have a diff. I would get a VLSD at the very least. Think of it this way. When you get to the nitty gritty you will be pissing away 50% of your power when your open diff gets romped on.

Get a diff $1,000
Get some swaybars $250
Overhaul your brake system $750
Get a decent set of motor mounts and a tranny mount.
Get bushings (you can spend a lot on this if with the labor and all)
Get braces (you can spend 1k on this alone)

If you take away your chassis flex and tighten up your drivetrain you will have a car that will run way better than a pretty stock 240 with a set of coilovers and a honking turbo kit.

I am sorry for going against the grain but I don't think building a car around a turbo is the right way to go. Building a car and adding a turbo is better in my opinion.

Flame suit on.
