Need help i am new

So here it goes. Its my moms car its a 240sx auto twin cam, and the car has a hiccup only in drive or reverse not in park or idle.
i replaced fuel filter, oil change, gas, plugs. i checked the wires and cap. it just started 2 weeks ago and now the speedo doesn't work either. so i told my mom i would look it over.

one other i was driving it home and the car died on the freeway i got it over to the side and tryed to restart it it would only run for 15 sec or so and about 30min it started up and ran like ****.

sorry i dont know much i have a honda and it sucks.
i know how to check codes on hondas but not this car.
so any help would be appreciated.

there's a how-to post on checking the ECU codes on the boards. use the search button and you'll find it

You didn't hear a pinging or a knocking before it died, did you? Lol.
