Go to www.imageshack.com and put your pics into there server, "what you want is free image hosting" then you just take the HTTP address they give you, copy and paste it into the TEXT where I am typing right now, it's that simple.....

It can but then you just have the same coolant passage problems, that need retro fit.
If you go to MSN to the 720truck forums it better explains the problems involved......
NAPSZ is excelelnt for N/A tunning, but the NAPSZ head sucks.....
Use the SOHC KA head and you will be one happy guy....

thanks..that head was cut 100thou(2.5mm) it gives 11.7:1 CR on the L16 and 15.3:1 with a L20b block cut 1mm. Pretty radical

Here is the info on the NAPS-Z that you asked for.....
I highly recomend the use of the KA sohc head, just for it's crossflow head design, it will prevent vapor lock, unlike the L series head......

thanks...i haven't sourced a Ka24e head nor an engine, SO for the time being the Lseries head would give better performance than the zhead. Also the Z18 would allow me to rev a little higher and gain more power to 9500.

Well I guess for now you can use the z18e head and block since you already have it.... My concern is just like the L series, it doesnt atomize fuel as well. Each cylinder is short one valve "8 instead of 12"... I do not recomend sourcing an L20b head onto the z18e block, major coolant problems will occur, and more than likely you will get hydro static lock in one of the cylinders.
But I guess if you want that high rev I would defenitely clover leaf weld the z18e head and also mill it down....
I think the CR on the NAPS-Z is around 8:3 or 8:6 depending on the size of it's displacement.
After all NAPSZ engines were strictly designed for smog emissions the lower CR would leave lower cylinder temps, allowing it too pass the smog......
You can probably get some performance from the NAPS-Z with it's cross flow design, but the head will need significant machining, and will also need titanium retainers, and springs for that high rev.........
I would like to know how your project turns out........
Keep me updated.....

Is this the engine you have?????????

As you can see the additional spark plugs to the exhaust ports also interfer with the CR, it was designed for the purpose of burning out the additional NOX, before flowing to the catylitic.
If I were you I would use an L20b distributor, and remove all NAPSz equipment...
Also weld those exhaust spark plug holes shut.........

the engine is in a FWD stanza. the distributor is in the head at the front on an angle. I hope this engine is a Z18 n not any other nissan 1.8.

It's probably the GA16e, or the CA18e........
I don't believe the NAPSZ was ever converted for front wheel drive use...
