well, my car is going into the body shop finally to finish all the little things they screwed up on (finer details, some over spray, two runs, some paint sag on the rear, some OS on the FR wheel spokes)... after that my real 3" cat back should be in the mail today, so i'll be installing that, i can't wait, to not sound like boo boo, yahooooooo!! and since i sold my crappy muffler shop cat back (real junk) for $75 shipped (kinda sucks i have to deliver it)... well from that sale i'm buying the black "S" shield emblem for the hood and the black "Silvia" emblem for the trunk, the grill got me all inspired... after that, all that's left to do on the outside is some kouki tails, but i can't quite afford those yet....

main thing now is making it over to my buddys house and finish pulling that motor from his parts car and getting in on a motor stand and start tearing it down....

Real Exhaust!!!

well guys, I'm finally rocking a full 3" exhaust, and not some mutted muffler shop piping with $2.99 eBay muffler.... and it sounds SOOOOOO much better, just got it in about an hour ago... here's some pics of it....

fresh out the box, on the way to my car.. (at the body shop)

car at the body shop, a quick pic of the doo doo muffler shop 2.25" piping

a shot of my son, making sure the brake is on, and my boy Ryan helping me out, thanks again bro!!! (he's got a tight SR hatch), a good friend indeed, made this a whole lot easier..

new pipe VS old pipe....

installed!!!!!!

see my son? a lil Speed Racer, calls it "daddy's race car"

that's all for now guys. i drove it around the block, and man, it sounds soooo much better, a lot deeper and throatier (if that's a word), and after the initial pipe burn off, sounded just generally awesome and put out that tone that the KA's are good for... FTW!!!

do you really need a 3" for an n/a KA?

my cousin had one on his n/a KA while he was waiting for his sr to go in and it was annoyingly loud...

yeah i know about the jack.... there was a craftsman jack there but it wouldn't fit under my car, so i had to work with what i had, and i was under time constraints... like 20 minutes to get it in....

the muffler shop pipe wasn't mandrel bent, there was a hole where one of the welds for the hanger burned through, and it was on 2.25"... sounded like crap, had a $2.99 ebay muffler... it was junk....

and i don't NEED a 3" for N/A but i'm either going KAT or S14 SR, and 3" i heard is better for boost... so i don't see the need to buy a 2.5" for now, and end up having to get a 3" later on down the road.... also i've read somewhere that the gains/losses on a 3" are negligible

I have 2.5" on my sr... you don't need a 3" just because your boosting, but hey, it's your car, you do what you want with it.
