newb here...

Hey guys, I just did a lot of searching and reading about the timing chain guides. I am planning on picking up a 240sx from my work tomorrow hopefully, but first I wanted to confirm the cause of the noise I was hearing. The way I describe it is like two whole wallnut shells in your hand, rubbing them thogether. My boss called it a "clackity clack". It is coming from the front top of the engine...right under the valve cover. The car only has 81k miles on it. I am assuming it is the guide? The engine idles smooth as can be and there is no sign of trouble, so is it a pretty safe bet to get it and just remove the guide? Also, does approx $2,100 out the door sound good for a 93 DOHC, Manual, 240 hatchback w/ 81k miles? The body is super straight. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm hoping I can scratch together the money. It does sound like a good deal.

Oh, and so do I need to worry about that timing chain guide right away or can it wait a bit?
