obx or pacesetter

was lookin at header options but i dont know if i wanna shell out the money for a DC header. Was lookin at other options like OBX and Pacesetter. Wondering besides durability what were the trade-offs compared to DC. Also wondering if these headers are any good period, reputation wise.

OBX, pacesetter is junk. I use to buy into pacesetter stuff. It is straight up junk....OBX uses better manufacturing techniques than pacesetter.

obx is 4-2-1 and pacesetter is 4-1.
the difference between dc and obx is the price imo.

I bought the DC sports because I know it's the best header product, and worth every penny. I own the DC sports and to date no other header manufacturer has proven that theres is better than a DC. If you are just looking to save without the maximum performance of the DCSPORTS then the OBX is probably more suited for you.

OBX is ceramic/stainless and will not warp. It also has larger exhaust tube primaries and is a 4-2-1 design. The 25 bucks you will save by going with the pacesetter isn't going to be worth it.

wait....... i have something to add.

you don't have state your location so i don't know if there are any smog regulations where you live. but if there are, i believe dc is the only 50 state legal header you can find for the 240.

sorry to burst your bubble but i don't think they're any 50 state legal headers made for our cars...if you go to aem's website and search for the dc headers it will say "Emissions Compliance - No, Pending Legality" and if you go to http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php and scroll down to "LIST EXECUTIVE ORDERS BY DEVICE" and click on the "Search for OEs" button you can see all the companies that make C.A.R.B leagal headers...
i've been looking to get a dc header for a long time now but since they're not C.A.R.B leagal either i guess i'm just going to have to go with the obx headers...

ok let me rephrase that.... c.a.r.b exempt
http://www.prostreetonline.com/s/exh...ts-headers.asp

here they claim all dc headers are c.a.r.b exempt.

like i said there aren't any C.A.R.B legal headers for our engines...they even state it on AEM's(which is now owner of DC) web site that the headers legality is pending...meaning not legal or is NOT C.A.R.B exempt....

sorry to thread jack but i just wanted to make it clear that DC headers aren't legal/C.A.R.B exempt or at least to my knowledge(feel free to correct me if i'm wrong still in the learning process also)...

True.
I remember in 2005 even when the CSR at AEM told me it would be exempt for cali use in NOV of 2006. Still to this day it's not, because tree huggers in cali chose to cause an argument that headers do make a difference for smog exemptions, (which is hokis pokus crap, and they don't understand that the CAT is what allows cars to pass emissions).
I still carry a DC sports header. It is a ceramic coated header, it proves the highest NET gains on the dyno, and if I have a problem with a smog tech I slide him $60 to pass smog.
DC sports is the best if you can afford it, enough said.Thread closed due to bickering, and nonsense that doesn't matter to the rest of the performance market.
