power steering fluid/alternator.........

In my factory service manual some chapters assume that the reader has general knowlegde of cars because the information is very limited. In other chapters it goes into more detail as if they were assuming the reader had almost no knowledge of cars. Anyway in the chapter it tells me about timing chain removal and install, it tells me to drain the radiator and oil but never the power steering fluid. But I have to remove the power steering pump and brackets in order to take the front cover off which I have already done and a lil bit of power steering fluid dripped down into my alternator. Is this going to cause any problems or will it damage the alternator?

the power steering pump does not need to be removed... just pull it off to the side and secure it there... a little fluid in the alternator wont hurt anything... if you notice it most likley has tons of stuff on it already and a more than a little power steering fluid... so to answer the question... nope it wont hurt it... and the reason the service manual does not say anything about removing it is because you dont "have" to... i do just to have extra room...

its more work than you will want to do trust me. I gave up and took it to a shop. Finally found a good deal. Only 500 bucks most places wanted 800+.
