power steering fluid removal question.

OKay so it has come to my attention that i may be using the wrong power steering fluid. I bought power steering fluid instead of ATF dexron 3. The fsm states how to bleed the system of air but does not state how to flush the damn thing.

So how do you flush the old fluid from the PS pump? I need to know ASAP.

Thanks in advanced.

P.S. I've already searched.

well you can use a pump to drain it or just let loose the line and let it leak out.

hmmm.. really? Y'mean the hose from the reservoir to the pump? I thought there were some fluid in the pump and rack itself.

The reason why i ask is because i put powersteering fluid instead of ATF and i heard mixing the two is no good.

Thanks landho you seeem to know alot about my brakes/wheels/suspension questions.

gah i need to explain this.

You can remove the lines on the rack and that will drain your system.

then once it is drained you refill with more fluid.
