pulley kit for the ka24e

So i have a 1990 240 and was looking at getting a set of underdrive pulleys......while looking I found someone posted on the internet that going with the unorthodox racing set is bad due to the fact that the stock pulleys come with a harmonic balancer for the cam....i guess first off, i was wondering if anyone has heard anything like this and secondly if anyone knows a good set to go with for the ka24e.....thanks

That's probably true, but the people I know who used their products (not on 240's though) were satisfied and liked the gains they got.

There are no dampeners or harmonic balancers for the KA24E or the DE. There does happen to be an extra slab of metal on the back of the e and de engines that are suppose to dampen any type of extreme turbulance.
If you get an after market pully kit you should be fine. KA's are low rev engines that don't need any type of sufficient dampening.
