I got my 240 less than a week ago, it's got 246000 on it. now here's my issue, I start her up, and when I'm in reverse I hear a grrrrrt sound from time to time,

but when it;s in gear and i hit like 3500rpm (it varies) it sounds like my heat shield is rattling. all though I opened the hood, pulled on the throttle cable ,

and there it is..... under the valve cover? Does this sound familiar to anyone???? I'm confused what to do @ this point so went to Nissan. ( I know that was stupid!!!) but I need advise!!!! I've got n appt to get it checked

My motor still has torque, now I'm babying it till I figure it out!

any ideas??

 

my '91 did the rattle thing too, I took off the valve cover and the the upper timing chain guide was broke and laying on the timing chain just rattling around, took it off and then put the valve cover and everything back on.
