Rattling at idle

Yes, I've searched and I know it's the timing chain but couldn't find an answer to my question. It seems to rattle only at idle, If I give it gas the rattling stops. I had to change the vc gasket so I took a look at it and found broken pieces near the timing chain.

The top piece looks like the timing chain guide, but what are the two others? And why does the chain seem to only rattle when idleing?

its hard to determine what thos came off of, ive had to rebuild mine twice and i still have problems with it. i think that i might have an answer to why it rattles when you idle. have you rebuilt your engine, and have you put an aftermarket tensioner on?because i have had to do it twice and the second time that i did it i was told that the best tensioner is an oem. the aftermarket one is terrible. i wish i could help you more.

From what I know, the previous owner told me that it wasn't rebuilt. Is there a way to tell if the tensioner is oem or aftermarket? I'm gonna take off the front cover and remove the lower timing chain guide hoping that the rattling is coming from there. Thanks for your help.

Fixed everything, it was the lower timing chain guard. Now I can drive peacefully without that rattling at idle. Thanks
