Read this article, wondering on what I can remove

I read this article, and noticed that the author removed a bunch of odds and ends valves and sensors from the car, I was wondering if anyone knows what can be removed relatively safely and what cannot. Thanks guys.

depends on what you are trying to do with the car..
are you trying to lose weight or get power?

Both

I guess both, obviously replacig the exhaust is one of the best ways, but all the other sensors and stuff under the hood that the guy got rid of, does that help in anyway?

Thanks for the help

I think it was for weight reduction, it was on a KA24DE. I'm gonna go ahead and just replace the intake system with an Injen set-up and call it good for a while. Thanks for the help.

well, that will free up a few hp but not do much for weight savings. the air box isn't all that heavy..mabey 3 or 4 lbs, if that. mine is laying in the other room, i'd weigh it gor you but my new hatch is blocking the door and i don't feel like movin that big ****...lol

i've stripped my interior and lost a good amount of weight with the carpet/deadniing,seatbelts/bolts, the insulation on the firewall, all paneling in the hatch, rear speakers. and soon will be the retarded auto-sliding seatbelts.
when all said and done...the new paint i laid down makes the interior look nice and clean.
i'll have pics of that in a week or so
