Yes smoother and much more responsive, with no smoke.

Electrical tune up is New distributor rotor, New distributor cap, New spark plugs, and New spark plug wires. You will defenitely need the electrical tune up it will prevent early ignition, or No ignition from occuring. All that black smoke out the back, I am pretty sure your plugs are covered in carbon crap.

Go to Kragen, or NAPA auto parts. Instead of the stock KA fuel filter, get a z32 fuel filter it is bigger than a KA fuel filter, but it will still fit. All the compenents you will find at those stores. I would recomend ACCEL wires for your electrical system. It is a mild upgrade. Get bosch platinums extremely reliable, and do't forget to GAP, if it is a BOSCH platinum single.

When ever you read a Nissan manual they will recomend certain components that were subcontracted for those engine parts at the time of that production.
That doesn't mean that other products can't be used or are any better.
I've always used bosch/Accel that is just my brand's that I am loyal too. It doesn't mean that it is any better or any worse than another product.....After all there just names, but are all "EPA/DOT" approved to function the same.
Bosch platinums are some of the best spark plugs, and cheaper on the market than most other plugs such as "SPLIT FIRE, ETC".
Porche uses bosch iridium's, volks wagens use bosch platinums so do audi. Just because something is Japanese doesn't mean you need to use Japanese subcontracted parts.
What would be the point of capitolism and fair buisness?
