For the S13
Fairly simple but due to it's amzingly wtf placement it is a bit of a pain.

1.unplug battery
2.unplug harness going to battery
3.undo to bolts on the starter/solenoid
4.Unbolt the 2 bolts on the back of the starter itself. (the diagram is very simplified.) feel around for the 2 bolts, they are parrallel to eachother. And yes these are a ****ing pain in the *** to take out. you can reach them from the top or bottom.
5.Remove ,yell expletives ***** you you piece of ***** was my choice.
6.insert in reverse order, make sure the 'blades' match up on the back of the starter, should just slip right in.

Feel free to add anything I forgot.

I think the 2 bolts is a 16mm. and torque those 2 bolts when you install the new starter

This is how i did it:

1) lift the car as high as you feel confortable workign under the car, the higher, the more space to move your hands and apply force
2) bolt no.1 is easy, its right in your face under the engine, choose from wrench, to sockets or w'e tool u may like, its the one you can actually see from under the engine

3) bolt no.2. breathe in.......and breathe out.
4) practice yoga+ tai chi before atempting to remove
5) what I did: Get a 14mm wrench, of average size (6-8 inches long), then use the bottom end, the part that is NOT open, carefully place this wrench bottom end on the bolt, then apply force upward if the wrench ends up to the side of of the engine. however the wrench will soon meet the intake manifold and if you can't place it right u'll have to go to method no.2

method no.2) place the same wrench looking up, in a parallel way not horizontal, so that it ends up in betwen the engine and the firewall, you may wish to place it just a litle to the right side of the car, because once its rotated a litle to the left it meets the limit of rotation. then go on top of the car and get a metal pipe, look behind your engine in betwen the coolant lines and a/c., behind the intake, you should be able to see the wrench with a flashlight. place the pipe behind the car so that it meets the wrench, then apply firm preasure and hit with hammer, i'll move about 1 inch, then go under the car, remove the wrench move once to the side to the next set of teeth on the wrench n go to the top, repeat, eventually about the 8 time the wrench will loosen up. I had to do this because of the dificulty of aplying force to the bolts when loosening, its almost imposible, but this way u can use a hammer to loosen it up. it requires good mechanical skills and Elbow Grease.
