Talking swapping motors this weekend

hey guys, I am replacing the broken timing chain motor in my car this weekend with andother KA24de. I am going to do the following let me know if there is anything i am forgetting.

1. replace valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket on replacement engine
2. plugs and wires
3. fuel filter
4. pcv valve
5. mobile 1 synthetic oil
6. cap and rotor
7. air filter
8. oil filter

wondering if I should replace the rear main, intake, and exhaust gaskets.

The new motor has 175 compression across all 4 and 45 psi oil pressure.

Let me know if there is something else i should do to this thing before i put it into the car.

Nick

Personally i would do the exhaust/intake gasket. They're not that expensive and really easy to do while out of the car. Otherwise sounds pretty good what you got so far. Good luck.

OK, engine and trans are in and almost all of the connections are back in place ( I love the FSM it really is a great tool). Tonight I am putting the radiator back in and finishing up the engine compartment, then its just getting it running.

so last night I get everything put back together and looking pretty, so i start to put the fluids in....... trans fluid goes in first - followed by the oil and starter fluid.......and then the coolant. So as I am finishing off the first coolant bottle I notice all the coolant is spilling out of the thermostat housing. so I take everything back apart and guess what, the thermostat housing cracked where one of the bolts go into it. luckily I still have the old motor to take stuff off of. what a pain in the a$$.....
