( Its off the subject but) I ordered a hi flow cat from ebay and i took my car to the muffler shop yesterday. the guy told me that my original one is better because the cat was hallowed out already while the one from ebay had all that stuff inside of it.
Would it make a difference if i hallowed out the cat from ebay and put it on or just sell it and make a little money.

wow thanks for the thread jack! and to answer your question yes you will fail with a test pipe because it takes out the cat. if your state has emissions then it will fail. hawaii doesn't!!!!

High flow CAT... Respect the air we breath, or make us all die of cancer early.........
Don't be a *** for a 1HP incentive and a no torque gain.

yea, it would be louder, its straight though instead of being stopped/muffled by the the stuff inside the cat... i dont know if you will fail or not, usually it depends where you live in TX.. or find a hookup

S14 have pre cats that come right off the ex. manifold the second "cat" is hollow.

Thats all S14's.

S13's just have the cat under the driver seat.

My s13 had test pipe and 3" exhaust.

Car was loud as **** on the road and gangsta on the track.

i use to have a test pipe, it made the car loud and would back fire now and again, i went out and got a catco high flow cat, and the car seemed to have a little more power and more responsive, not to mention more quiet, which is what i wanted in the first place. its a nice investment, and will not poison the air.

well i still have stock exhaust. if i get the catco it won't match up because my pipes will be smaller right? i am thinking i'll just get a stock cat.

???????
As long as they have the same bolt/flange pattern you can get a freakin' 3" diameter if you wanted to. You might as well get it in 2.5". Catco cats are cheaper than stock OEM, and they get the job done....
