Thinner head gasket

BTW, woundering if anyone has finally cared to make a thinner headgasket to bump up compression a tad bit?

You are going to have to call up a racing shop for a custom gasket. I personally don't know of thinner gaskets then OEM. Mostly because people would rather mill the heads, or clover leaf weld.

resurfacing or milling the head is your best bet. the machine shops i've seen do that for about $35 compared to a custom after market gasket that's not bad.

wow thats it? I would expect milling to be alot more.
Vin what exactly is clover leaf weld? Im not familiar with that method.

prices will change depending of the establishment. the more uptown the shop the more they'll charge.

i read about clover leaf welding in your thread and the first thing that came do mind was, why not mill the head instead?
but if i understand/remember correctly it's not about compression as much as it is about decreasing volume and increasing the temp of the cylinder. but i could be wrong it's been a while since i read this.

Clover leaf welding is welding to the roof of the head to decrease the surface area of the compression chamber increasing the compression and the flame front.

Milling the head isn't always the best route. It reduces valve clearance,which will overall prevent the engine builder from using high lift and duration cams.
Clover leaf welding allows for the OEM valve clearance which is recommended when using stage 2 or stage 3 cams to optimize power, while using a high compression chamber since all the measurements are determined from stock lift.

also i believe all nissan engines are interference engines so milling might not be as good as an idea as i previously thought.
