Unhappy Ticking noise in head...

There is a ticking noise in my head when I get to 3000-3500rpm,
I am not quite sure what to do about it. Would the valves need adjusting or is this another problem?

TIA

I guess it would be a good idea to say it's a '89 KA24E.

Maybe its a ticking lifter. Try seafoam.

Try all three? Haha, well...I'm not thinking it's the timing chain guides because it seems to be coming from the back driver side. It does it when I start the car and also from 3000-3500rpm. I will, however, try these things. Thanks guys!

I had that too and the seafoam cleared it right up. Good luck man. By the way, one can of seafoam is good to put in the gas for injectors, the oil for the valvetrain and such, and the vaccuum hoses for carbon buildup and such.

dont put it in the crankcase unless you're prepaired to deal with possible oil leaks. sometimes the sludge build up is holding it all in.

Yeah I've heard of instances were older cars started to leak in areas were the seafom was used. So caution must be taken.

I have the same prob. i thought it was something vibrating in the engine bay.
did you all's sound like something vibrating in the engine bay?

ill check the chain guide.....
and post pics.

i was thinking of doing the SEAFOAM clean up.

should i do it before or after removing the chain guide?
