underdrive pulley

Hi again,

So here I am with my 240, by the way I love these cars, and I am looking to make a few modifications to the engine. I was browsing around on ebay for some replacement interior parts and I found an auction for underdrive pulleys. I understand the idea behind them, but I am just wondering if investing in a set of lightweight pulleys would be worth the money. Anyone have any advice on the matter?

Underdrive pulleys won't really give you a huge boost in power, especially if that is the extent of your modifications, will free up some rotational mass. They do give you a "+" in bling factor though...

i'd look into a flywheel if it's lightweight you want.

well the pulleys wouldn't be the extent of my mods but I am just wondering if they are worth it at all (but the bling factor is a bonus).

poor quality, unbalanced pulleys can be detrimental to your engine and the others are overpriced.

lightweight pulley combined with electric fan to replace the clutch fan, and if budget approves lightweight flywheel would definitely free up some HP, and i'd say definitely worth it.

i think what everyone is saying is it's not really worth it unless you have supporting mods(i/h/e)...from what i've been hearing it'll give you a better high end...i wouldn't recomend getting any pulleys from ebay, unless is unorthodox or asp...like jramosthe1st! said if it's unbalanced or poor quality you might get screwed(you get what you paid for)...i've read a few people on here or at nico that the ebay pulley's had some fitmint problems...i personally like it and going to order an asp next week...

yup pulleys alone will only put a dent in your pocket when that money could have been used for something better.
