Valve Cover Screws?

So i was toying around with my engine and seeing whats new cause i was bored. I looked at everything made sure it was secure etc. (really bored) when i noticed that where the spark plugs are between 2 and 4 is a screw. This screw seems to be loose. So i tryed to tighten it and to my surprise it was stripped, now PO'ed im not sure if its supposed to be like that but to me its just sitting there.

SO my question is, is it bad to be like that is it letting "unwanted air" into my engine? im scared to drive it now because of this someone please reasure me or tell me what the heck i need to do to fix this.

I hope you guys can figure out by my rambling what im talking about.

Thanks in advance.

it just holds the cover on, no "unwanted air" issues to worry about
