Lightbulb vg30 swap...

Well i went and done it again... my damn yard is going to look like a frickin scrap yard either tis weekend or next...

i found a totaled 300zx that is still complete... thrashed but complete... and the transmission has lost 5th gear... and get this i got it for 300 bucks...

the plan is for a vg swap into my 89 240 hatch... i will get to work on it some time in the next month but im posting this to get feedback and ideas on what and how this should be done plus to start adding information for anyone else who might want to try this themselves...

oh yeah did i forget to mention ... it is a twin turbo

motor??? whole car and i aint picked it up yet... i found out today when i went to look at it that it is not in fact a twin turbo 300zx... they guy i talked to was thinking it was newer than it actually was... the car in fact is an 89 300zx with the vg motor and standard trans with a bad 5th gear... there is damage to the drivers side the is not major but it will take some work to get it fixed... the paint is in okat shape as well as the rest of the car... interior is thrashed pretty hard but i dont want the interior any way... i just need to find a few things out befor i go and pay for the car and bring it home...

things i need to know from you swap gurus...

will the brakes from an 89 work on the 240??? i want the front and the rear... as well as does anyone know about the rear diff on these cars??? are they limited slip or open like mine??? if it is a limited slip will it swap into my 240 or not???? gimmie some help anyone who knows about this year and model car...

5 lug is great then you can get the 95-98 5 lug rims on the s13....SICK!!!!!!!
I think the 300z front sway bar is thicker also, better rienforcement...

Every thing will pretty much bolt right in.....

a word to the wise... i wouldn't do that if i were u:
http://www.ka24development.com/vlsd.html

First thing: DO NOT get the twin turbo diff, as it uses an R230V which is physically too big to work, and it's got a much different gear ratio (3.6X:1). The non-turbo has the same ratio as the 240 (4.083:1)
