Weal link in a 240?

all right. hopefully this will be the last noob question out of me for a while.. So here goes, I already asked before in a previous thread and got no responses.. And BigVinnie has been helping me out a lot. But i was wondering, since i'm pulling a motor swap in my 240, is there any especially weak link that all S14's have that are notorious for breaking that i should look at upgrading while the motor is pulled? (EX: motor mounts? Mine arent' bad, but it's just an example.) i have been looking around on this site and haven't found any other thread pertaining to this, so i'm figuring that there isn't one, but i just wanna make sure before i put the new motor in and something goes wrong. Thanks for the read guys.

Need more information: What kind of motor are you swapping into it? Stock KA? If that is the case, I'd start with pistons and rods, bearings, then valves, springs, retainers. Crank should be fine up to a certain hp...but I don't know what you're doing.

Maybe you just mean little things...dunno.

well.. i was kind of talking about big and small.. Unless things change i will be swapping a 96 KA24DE into it. I found one for a good price w/ only 68,000 on it. But b/c my car is OBD1, BigVinnie suggests that I go w/ an OBD1 motor. So i will try looking again and see if I can find an OBD1 motor, maybe a 91-93 for the cams.. I already have a set of 91-93 cams, but it would make sense to just get a 91-93 motor w/ the cams already in and just sell my set. But yeh.. so either a 96 KA, or a 91-93 KA.. and i was already thinking of putting in a nice set of hi-pro pistons.. b/c after tax returns and a little saving, i want to go b0o0o0o0ost

If you want to boost, I'd just leave the compression stock, and go for forged pistons. It's up to you though. As far as cams, I haven't really seen any good turbo'd cams for the KA(Haven't really been looking much), but yeah, I wouldn't know.

the stock rods are already forged and shotpeaned... if i was going ka-t... i'd atleast go lower compression pistons or a metal headgasket. Of course, fuel managment, bigger injectors and fuel pump are needed
