What sensor is this? (pic included)

This has been broke since day one. The car still run's great even though..

I can't find any info on this part in my FSM. This sensor is located on the side of the airbox

What sensor is this?
Where does this sensor plug in...it must be hidden because I can't find it's mate connector
Where do I buy this?

need better pics.
pics of it on the car. if it is the senser on the wheel wall next to the ignition coil its for the tranny shifting smoother. if it is connected to the coil it is the power transister connecter. but without pics of it on the car its hard to say.

I'll take a pic tomorrow. This part is bolted to the side of the airbox. It has a air temp sensor or something on the left side in the pic I posted..

Thanks

Ryan

to be honest i couldn't tell you what the sinsor is for but i'm pretty sure the car doesn't need it to run i dont have mine on and the car started up and was running fine. I found this out while gutting the extra crap in the engine bay hope that helps.

it looks like that air box cover was picked up at a junk yard... unless you just write on your parts in blue paint or grease pens... if that is the cast it could be off of any nissan that uses this style of air cleaner... that makes it about what 7 or 8 diferent models... i have had years from 89 to 94 nissan 240's and not one of em had that sensor...

its the air intake temp sensor. doesnt really do much. most people dont even know that theres is broken because it doesnt make the car run any different.

no big deal

yeah...it's the air temp sensor...it just measures the air temp so the ecu can compensate for fuel....for example....you can compress more air into the cylinders when it is cold versus when it is hot...so it needs more fuel when it has more air...thats all it does...just keeps the a/f ratio in place...

you get better fuel economy when it works. it it's broken the ECM will read -40F and will dump gas. when it works you don't have that eggy smell from your converter.
