Get Ready for Mega Millions!
May 13, 2002 11:05 am US/Eastern
(Trenton-AP) -- Bye-bye Big Game. Make
way for Mega Millions.
Tickets for the new lottery will go on sale
in New Jersey, New York and seven other
states on Wednesday. The first drawing is
Friday.
The jackpot starts at ten million dollars --
double the Big Game. Money will be rolled
into the first Mega game if there's no
winner in tomorrow's final Big Game
drawing.
Officials say the average Mega jackpot will be 80 million, but some
will get close to 500 million.
With the higher payoff comes higher odds, one in 135 million
compared to one in 76 million for the Big Game.
