Are there any problems the rb20det (or any engine in general) experience from not enough use. I'm buying a 240 shell and the rb20det off a guy who now no longer has the time or money to complete his project.....he got the engine from night7racing so im not too worried about it passing compression but the engines been sitting in his garage for half a year i think...

 

if it's not running it's not getting worn.

I have a friend who recently bought a Lincoln cont. that had been sitting for a while( I don't know how long for sure) but when he drove it for about a week it started to develop oil leaks. A mechanic said it was because the seals had dried out and cracked from not being started in a while. But I don't see that being the case if it's only set for 6 mths.

 

The oil leak problem is a possiblity, happened to my Miata(it sat for a little more then half a year I believe)

Thats the only real problem

Gaskets, not a lot at all.
