I didnt wanna post in a 240 forum because its not about a 240. I need to know where to get a catalytic convertor for a 1998 Honda Civic EX. If not a cat then I need some way to get ride of the check engine light. I'm trying to sell the car and no one wants a car with the check engine light on.

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. I can sell it as soon as I get this problem fixed. The current cat has been gutted, that is why the check light comes on. Any other remedies besides a new cat? I tried an O2 sim from jegs, but it didnt work.

As soon as I get the Honda sold I can start my swap, so i'm getting really anxious.

Why would a gutted cat cause the engine light to come on?
Did you ever think that your O2 might be bad?

Junk yards around where I live said they wont sell used cats bc its against the law, first time i ever heard that but oh well.

The second o2 sensor is in the rear of the cat. If you remove everything inside the cat it causes it to throw a code.

I guess I will just have to break down a buy a new cat. Hate to spend 150+ on a car that I'm selling. I'm currently full time in college so money is hard to come buy right now
